The
10,000th Tree Is Planted

The symbolic 10,000th tree has found its
home near Waterloo's City Centre.
The more than four-metre tall
Autumn Flame Maple was chosen because
of its reputation for hardiness in urban environments
and its beautiful colour in the fall months.

Town Square Green Space
by 10,000 Trees Project
Waterloo
Public Square opened to great fanfare on May 30, 2009. Six
stately locust trees provide shade for visitors and a lovely natural
garden greet citizens at the square gateway all donated by 10,000
Trees Project Inc. As the city's premiere environmental organization
it is fitting that it be the
first
corporation to sponsor the Town Square.
